Operations Manager (Industrial Service) – Greensboro, NC
About the Role
Carlton Industrial Solutions is seeking an Operations Manager with experience leading field service or industrial service operations to lead our Greensboro branch. This role is responsible for operating the branch as a business, with accountability for P&L performance, service delivery, customer experience, and team leadership.
The Operations Manager ensures it is easy to do business with CIS, delivering a seamless experience across the full service lifecycle — from customer call through scheduling, service execution, and invoicing (call to cash).
Key Responsibilities
- Business Ownership: Manage full branch P&L, including revenue, labor, and profitability; make decisions that align operational execution with financial performance
- Service Delivery: Oversee scheduling, dispatch, preventive maintenance, break/fix service, and installations to ensure efficient, high-quality execution
- Customer Experience: Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensure consistent service delivery, and effectively manage escalations
- Growth & Revenue: Identify opportunities within existing accounts, partner with Sales, and drive service and project revenue
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop Service Technicians, reinforcing accountability for performance, quality, and safety
- Operational Execution: Ensure accurate and timely completion of service documentation, time entry, and invoicing
What We’re Looking For
- Experience managing service or field-based operations supporting industrial customers (HVAC, mechanical, or related industry preferred)
- Demonstrated P&L ownership or financial accountability
- Strong understanding of service delivery from call to cash (work order to invoice)
- Proven ability to balance customer expectations, operational execution, and business performance
- Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of safety practices in a field service environment
- Experience managing field service operations including scheduling/dispatch, preventive maintenance, and break/fix service
