MajorDuties

  • The Operations Compliance Specialist performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. Monitors complex compliance investigations, analyzing systemic issues and identifying patterns of non-compliance, ensuring corrective actions align with established policies and enforcement protocols. As principal technical specialist, leads and/or participates in compliance activities with air navigation service providers, pertaining to operations, regulations, and requirements. Applies experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of compliance policies and principles, and surveillance and oversight processes and procedures as well as an understanding of new technologies and methodologies, to solve complex problems and develop improved technical processes or systems. Develops and implements compliance strategies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Conducts audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of surveillance and oversight processes, identifying gaps and developing improvements. Analyzes emerging technologies and methodologies to assess their impact on compliance and oversight operations, integrating innovative solutions to enhance efficiency. Leads the development and implementation of compliance monitoring systems, integrating advanced analytical tools to enhance oversight efficiency and ensure regulatory adherence. Conducts in-depth assessments of compliance policies, industry standards, and regulatory changes, providing data-driven recommendations to improve operational practices and mitigate risk. Develops strategic recommendations to enhance existing processes, work instructions, and programs. Evaluates safety compliance and risk mitigation efforts, identifying critical issues that require managerial attention. Develops plans, techniques, and policies to address current or anticipated problems and issues to strengthen operational effectiveness. Works with management to solve problems. Conducts comprehensive evaluations of safety and quality management frameworks, identifying areas for improvement and developing recommendations for system enhancements to optimize risk mitigation and operational efficiency. Develops and implements safety management system enhancements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards, integrating quality management principles into oversight and surveillance processes. Collaborates with various teams to integrate safety assurance methodologies into surveillance operations, ensuring alignment with established safety management system policies and quality control standards. Provides policy guidance and instructions on safety oversight matters, including risk assessments, technical evaluations, human-system performance metrics, and safety assurance documentation. Conducts in-depth studies utilizing inspection and safety management methodologies to analyze programs and procedures. Assesses the overall alignment of compliance, surveillance, and oversight activities within Air Traffic Safety Oversight Service (AOV) to support policies, initiatives, and strategic objectives. Develops actionable solutions to aid management in planning both short-term and long-term efforts. Continuously monitors all aspects of compliance, surveillance, and oversight processes, developing systematic improvements to enhance operational integrity and efficiency. Develops, integrates, and implements solutions to diverse and complex problems, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the AOV and Aviation Safety (AVS). Works cross-functional and organizational boundaries to drive effective problem-solving and operational improvements. Engages with stakeholders across different organizational levels, integrating diverse perspectives, and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
