Chemotherapy/Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chemotherapy/Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy outpatient infusion center. The RN will provide specialized care to oncology and hematology patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other infusion-based treatments. This role requires strong clinical judgment, exceptional patient care skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, IV fluids, antibiotics, and other infusion therapies.
- Assess, monitor, and manage patient responses to treatment, including infusion reactions and medical emergencies.
- Access and manage central lines, PICC lines, and implanted ports.
- Review physician orders, laboratory results, and patient records to ensure safe treatment administration.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain compliance with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) standards and facility policies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and support overall infusion center operations.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
- Active RN license in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
- At least 2 years of recent chemotherapy/oncology nursing experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, and oncology patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Outpatient infusion center experience.
- Experience administering blood products and managing central venous access devices.
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred.
