Compensation: $124,000 – $150,000 Annually (DOE)


Position Overview


Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is partnering with a respected healthcare organization to identify an experienced Oncology Nurse Navigator (RN). This role plays a critical part in guiding patients through their cancer care journey by providing clinical coordination, education, advocacy, and emotional support.


The Nurse Navigator serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, and care teams to ensure seamless, high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.


Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage patient care across the oncology treatment continuum

• Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care

• Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and families

• Perform clinical triage and nursing consultations within scope of practice

• Collaborate with physicians, infusion teams, and support staff

• Assist patients in navigating healthcare systems and community resources

• Monitor treatment progress and address care barriers

• Advocate for patient needs and treatment preferences

• Promote patient safety and quality outcomes

• Participate in process improvement initiatives

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR systems

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and regulatory standards


Qualifications


Education & Licensure

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent required

• Active California RN License

• BLS Certification (AHA)


Certifications (Required)

• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification

• ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification

• Nurse Navigator Certification (preferred)


Experience

• Minimum 2 years of outpatient/ambulatory nursing experience

• Prior oncology and/or infusion therapy experience strongly preferred

• Experience with care coordination and patient navigation


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to manage complex patient cases

• High level of organization and time management

• Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic preferred)

• Knowledge of oncology protocols and treatment pathways

• Demonstrated patient advocacy skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams

• Strong teaching and patient education capabilities


Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Primarily sedentary role with extended computer use

• Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (<25 lbs)

• Exposure to clinical environments and biohazard materials

• Frequent interaction with patients and healthcare staff

• Fast-paced, detail-oriented clinical setting
