Nurse Director of Emergency Services



Responsible for the direction and coordination of the activities of the assigned division in order to execute daily operations and meet the objectives of the hospital plan for the Provision of Patient Care. Implements standards and evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing and respiratory care delivered and operations of departments.



Responsibilities



  • Leadership - Supports organizational change initiatives by assisting staff in understanding organizational objectives and the changing healthcare environment.
  • Administration - Develops comprehensive programs for all areas of responsibility to monitor quality of care and status of process improvement activities; completes assignments within established time frames.
  • Coaching/Development - Identifies and supports opportunities for professional growth of employees. Provides management development for Nurse Managers and others to facilitate/enhance job performance.
  • Financial - Oversees the fiscal management of cost centers in the areas of capital, revenue, expense, and staffing budgets. Reviews resource utilization and budget activities to ensure compliance with budget parameters.
  • Practice - Keeps employees informed of and compliant with the requirements of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and South Carolina board of Nursing (SCBON) in the delivery of nursing care. Ensures that standards relating to accreditation, practice and licensure are met.



Qualifications



  • Education: Master’s degree in Nursing or Business Administration required within 5 years.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years experience in an acute care facility including at least 2 years experience in the specialty area is required. Management experience is required.
  • Licensure/Certification: A valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside is required. Should you hold a RN license from another Compact state, you are required to apply for and obtain a Multi-State RN License from the state in which you reside within 30 days. American Heart Association BLS CPR and CPI certifications required.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and quality improvement methodologies.



Pay range and compensation package



Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
