A Brief Overview
The Cardiac Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Heart Transplant team in a unique inpatient/outpatient role caring for pediatric patients with advanced heart failure, ventricular assist devices (VADs), and heart transplants.
This position includes a rotating inpatient service (non-front line role), rounding with attending physicians and the multidisciplinary team, as well as outpatient clinic responsibilities managing VAD patients. The APPs can expect approximately two days per week in clinic, with patient volumes of 15–20 per session depending on inpatient census.
The team consists of four APPs (two heart failure and two transplant) working collaboratively across care settings. This is a weekday-only role (Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts) with no weekends, holidays, or call.
Our ideal candidate would have CCU experience strongly preferred, though CICU experience is also valued.
