Network Technician

Job Title: Network Technician

Location: Onsite throughout the 7-county metro area (St. Paul, MN and surrounding locations)

Travel: Reliable transportation required

Key Responsibilities

• Install, replace, and configure physical network switches and ports within Council infrastructure
• Support System Engineers with network connectivity troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Assist with wireless connectivity and low-voltage network infrastructure issues
• Transport, load, unload, and secure networking hardware and equipment
• Document completed work through photographs, notes, and shared tracking spreadsheets
• Ensure equipment is installed according to infrastructure standards and specifications
• Communicate installation issues, concerns, and project updates to engineering teams
• Assist with infrastructure equipment layout and deployment activities
• Track hardware inventory and delivery to project locations
• Provide knowledge transfer and technical support to Network Team members as needed

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience; OR
• Associate Degree, technical certification, or higher education with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Experience supporting network infrastructure installations and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently at multiple onsite locations
• Reliable transportation for travel throughout the metro area
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco Certification (CCNA or equivalent)
• Microsoft Azure Certification
• Experience with low-voltage power systems and multimedia connectivity
• Experience using SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools
• Experience reading blueprints, floor plans, and technical diagrams
• Experience working in diverse and collaborative team environments
