Network Engineer (CCNA/CCNP)
This role requires a blend of hands-on technical skill and high-level network design. We are looking for an engineer who can not only maintain our current infrastructure but also lead the charge in scaling and securing our enterprise network.
Job Summary
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing local and wide area networks to ensure maximum uptime and performance. You will serve as a technical lead for networking projects, utilizing CCNA and CCNP level expertise to optimize routing, switching, and security protocols across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Design & Implementation: Architect and deploy scalable network solutions including LAN, WAN, and WLAN; configure and install various network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN).
- Performance Optimization: Conduct network monitoring and performance tuning; troubleshoot complex connectivity issues and implement strategic upgrades.
- Network Security: Maintain network security through the configuration of access control lists (ACLs), firewalls, and encryption; ensure compliance with internal security policies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate diagrams, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the network environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Security and DevOps teams to integrate network infrastructure with cloud services and automated workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in network engineering or administration.
- Certifications: * CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is required.
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Enterprise or Security is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: * Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and ASA/Firepower.
- Experience with Network Management Systems (NMS) and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) or SD-WAN.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS/Azure).
- Scripting knowledge for network automation (Python or Ansible).
