NERC Compliance Analyst


Responsibilities

  • Providing NERC reliability compliance support and analysis for transmission and generation registered entities
  • Support the implementation and oversight of the NERC Internal Compliance Program (ICP), including Operations and Planning (O&P) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards, working in coordination with the various business units and departments
  • Support the Compliance team in the oversight of the NERC reliability compliance program across transmission and generation registered entities.
  • Assist in managing and completing NERC periodic data submittals, self-certifications, and compliance reporting obligations in coordination with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Track and maintain compliance matrices, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Monitor NERC standards development activities, regional entity workshops, webinars, and regulatory changes that may affect compliance obligations
  • Support audit and regulatory engagements, compliance investigations, assurance activities, and responses to requests from NERC, Regional Entities, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with identification, documentation, and resolution of potential compliance issues, including tracking mitigating activities utilizing the compliance management tools (AssurX/NERC Align).
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to develop and maintain internal controls and testing plans aligned with the Internal Controls Framework.
  • Assist with the documentation and periodic review of NERC compliance policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Support the development and delivery of compliance program training and awareness materials.
  • Develop compliance metrics and reports to measure and communicate program effectiveness.
  • Support energization compliance reviews and new asset integration compliance activities.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Have 1 to 3 years of direct experience in a NERC reliability compliance role, with working knowledge of applicable standards for Operations, Planning (O&P), and/or Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).
  • Are familiar with NERC standards applicable to Transmission Owner (TO), Transmission Operator (TOP), Transmission Planner (TP), Generator Owner (GO), and/or Generator Operator (GOP) registrations.
  • Are experienced with one or more of the following RTO/ISOs: PJM, MISO, NYISO, CAISO, or ERCOT.
  • Have experience and/or knowledge with one or more of the following Regional Entities: ReliabilityFirst (RF), Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), or Texas Reliability Entity (TRE).
  • Have experience with compliance management tools and internal controls frameworks is a plus.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Have strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Are able to understand and communicate effectively with a diverse audience across all levels of the organization.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook). Experience with compliance or work management software is a plus
