Position Title : Mortgage Business Systems Analyst

Location : Dallas, TX (prefer in and around TX)

Duration : FULLTIME ROLE


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mortgage Business Systems Analyst to bridge the gap between mortgage business operations and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong mortgage domain expertise, business analysis capabilities, and experience working with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), workflow automation, and enterprise integrations.

This role will partner with business stakeholders, operations teams, compliance, and technology teams to analyze processes, gather requirements, implement system enhancements, and support digital transformation initiatives across the mortgage lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with mortgage operations, underwriting, processing, closing, servicing, and compliance teams to gather business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Conduct gap analysis, workflow analysis, and process mapping.
  • Create user stories, business requirements documents (BRDs), use cases, and process documentation.

Mortgage Systems Support

  • Support and optimize mortgage platforms including Loan Origination Systems (LOS), CRM systems, pricing engines, and document management systems.
  • Work with platforms such as Encompass, Empower, Blend, Optimal Blue, ICE Mortgage Technology, or similar systems.
  • Configure workflows, forms, business rules, and system integrations as needed.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend scalable technology solutions.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve loan processing efficiency, data accuracy, and customer experience.
  • Participate in digital transformation and workflow modernization projects.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Serve as the liaison between business users, IT teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and requirement sessions with stakeholders.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and dependencies effectively.

Testing & Implementation

  • Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and test cases.
  • Validate system functionality and integration points.
  • Support production deployments, issue resolution, and post-implementation activities.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure systems and workflows comply with mortgage industry regulations including TRID, RESPA, HMDA, FHA/VA, CFPB, and investor guidelines.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance reporting initiatives.

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Analyze mortgage operational data and generate business insights.
  • Support dashboard creation, KPI tracking, and reporting initiatives.
  • Assist with data validation and reconciliation activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or Mortgage Technology Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending lifecycle and operations.
  • Experience working with Loan Origination Systems (LOS).
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Encompass, ICE Mortgage Technology, Blend, Empower, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, or data mapping concepts.
  • Experience with workflow automation and integration projects.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Mortgage banking or lending certifications preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
