The Molding Operator sets up and operates molding equipment to produce high-quality silicone rubber implantable medical device components in a GMP-compliant clean-room environment. This role involves working with small parts, performing detailed quality inspections, and operating various molding and machine tools across multiple shifts to support consistent and reliable production.
Responsibilities
Join a large, growing medical device manufacturer that offers a stable, long-term career path where many employees stay until retirement. You will contribute to meaningful products such as implantable devices, pacemaker components, tubing extrusions, and clean-room and hospital-safe packaging that directly support patient care. The company invests in advanced technologies, including automated robotic devices and specialized molding equipment, providing opportunities to build valuable technical skills. You will work in a structured, safety-focused environment with clear processes, supportive teamwork, and the chance to grow alongside an expanding organization.
Work Environment
This role is based entirely in a GMP-compliant clean-room manufacturing facility. Upon entering, you will use a designated gowning area where you clean off your shoes to remove dust and dirt and fully gown up in clean-room attire before accessing production areas. While on contract, you will wear shoe covers; once permanent, you receive dedicated clean-room footwear such as Crocs. The production floor consists of individual stations equipped with injection molding machines and a computer/microscope station behind each operator for part inspection and documentation. You will work around molding machines, brake press machines, and other production equipment, handling small silicone components and medical device parts. Multiple shifts are available: 1st shift (5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.), with overtime commonly scheduled as 8-hour shifts on Saturdays. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, precision, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality standards at all times.
