Job Title: Mold Technician
Job Description

This position is responsible for designing, creating, and repairing tools, jigs, fixtures, dies, and molds used in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Create precision tools, dies, and fixtures according to technical drawings.
  • Repair and maintain existing tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure tools meet specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on tools and dies to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Use various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the tool-making process.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool usage and maintenance.
  • Ensure all tools are delivered on time and meet production schedules.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Continuously improve tool-making processes and techniques.
  • Follow basic safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Mold Technician Levels training or equivalent experience.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of molding, inserts, and plastic injection molding.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and working in an ISO-certified environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to work with precision tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Relevant certification or apprenticeship in tool making or machining.
  • 2 years of previous experience as a toolmaker.
  • Strong understanding of machining and tool-making techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficient in using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of materials and their properties.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Work Environment

You will work as part of a team of five, collaborating on all stages of the plastic injection molding process. The work environment encourages growth, allowing you the opportunity to advance into an engineering role without requiring a degree.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk River, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
