This Millwright Mechanic role supports a heavy manufacturing operation by rebuilding equipment, performing complex mechanical repairs, welding and fabrication, and maintaining production machinery to minimize downtime. You work hands-on with large industrial equipment in a rough, fast-paced environment, using your mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills to keep production running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
The company invests heavily in the growth and development of its maintenance team through ongoing, vendor-led technical training and a structured progression program. Maintenance technicians advance through three defined tiers, with evaluations approximately every six months that provide clear opportunities for pay increases tied to skill development and performance. Training is engaging and practical, with hands-on learning and creative incentives, such as specialized tools and rewards for applying new skills effectively. You join a culture that values continuous improvement, recognizes initiative, and supports long-term career growth in industrial maintenance.
Work Environment
This role operates in a heavy industrial, automotive-related manufacturing setting with moving machinery, welding operations, fabrication work, and large production equipment. The environment is rough, dirty at times due to the nature of the product and processes, and physically demanding, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, dust, grease, and typical industrial hazards. Work is fast-paced and driven by production needs, with urgent repair situations and ongoing support for manufacturing lines. You regularly work around presses, rollers, extrusion machines, and other heavy equipment, using industrial tools and precision instruments. Steel-toe boots and appropriate personal protective equipment are required and worn for extended periods to ensure safety while performing all tasks.
