Position Summary
Legacy Christian Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused Middle School Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and help students achieve academic success in a Christ-centered learning environment. The Assistant Teacher works alongside the lead teacher to provide academic assistance, encourage student growth, reinforce classroom expectations, and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with middle school students, enjoys helping students overcome academic challenges, and serves as a positive Christian role model both inside and outside the classroom.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and administration.
- Commitment to the mission and Christian values of Legacy Christian Academy.

Principal and Lead Teacher
Primary Responsibilities
Academic Support
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom instruction and learning activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to students.
- Reinforce lessons and help students understand assignments, concepts, and classroom expectations.
- Monitor student progress and communicate academic concerns to the lead teacher.
- Assist students with study skills, organization, and time management.
- Support students who need additional encouragement or assistance in completing assignments.
Classroom Assistance
- Help prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning activities.
- Assist with grading, recordkeeping, and other classroom administrative tasks as assigned.
- Support the lead teacher in maintaining an organized and productive learning environment.
- Help facilitate classroom transitions and daily routines.
Student Supervision and Support
- Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch periods, assemblies, field trips, and other school events.
- Encourage respectful behavior and positive interactions among students.
- Reinforce classroom rules and school policies in a consistent and supportive manner.
- Assist the lead teacher in addressing minor behavioral concerns when necessary.
Christian Leadership and Mentorship
- Model Christian values, character, and professionalism in daily interactions.
- Encourage students in their spiritual, academic, and personal development.
- Foster a classroom atmosphere that reflects respect, kindness, responsibility, and integrity.
- Support the school's mission of integrating faith and learning.
Communication and Collaboration
- Work closely with teachers and staff to support student success.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
School Support
- Assist with school programs, special events, and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Represent Legacy Christian Academy in a positive and professional manner.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and supervise students throughout the school day.
- Ability to assist with classroom setup, organization, and student activities.
- Ability to supervise students in both indoor and outdoor settings.
