Overview

A large pharmaceutical manufacturing organization is seeking a Microbiologist to support routine microbiological testing and environmental monitoring activities. This role is critical to ensuring the microbiological integrity of drug products and manufacturing areas while maintaining compliance with GMP standards. The position is fully on-site and supports daily laboratory and cleanroom operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological testing of drug products and manufacturing samples
• Conduct sterility testing, bioburden testing, and environmental monitoring activities
• Support cleanroom operations, including gowning and aseptic techniques
• Document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records in compliance with GMP regulations
• Follow standard operating procedures and support investigations related to microbiological findings
• Assist with maintaining laboratory cleanliness, equipment, and materials

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Microbiology or Biological Sciences preferred)
• 1+ year of experience in a microbiology-related role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
• Strong understanding of GMP standards and regulatory requirements
• Hands-on experience with routine drug product testing
• Experience performing sterility testing, bioburden testing, and working in cleanroom environments
• Proficiency with aseptic technique and cleanroom gowning procedures

Plusses

• Experience performing MET (Microbial Enumeration Testing) assays
• Previous experience supporting large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
