Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join a community-focused critical access hospital laboratory team. Schedule
- Monday – Thursday
- 10-hour day shifts (10:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
- 40 hours per week
- Occasional weekend rotation
- Rotating holiday schedule
- Occasional on-call responsibilities (must be able to report within 30 minutes)
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests and procedures
- Conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Perform blood bank testing and related procedures
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results
- Maintain quality control and compliance with laboratory standards
- Utilize Cerner electronic medical record system for documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field
- ASCP Certification as MLT or MLS (required)
- Current AHA BLS Certification (required at submission)
- Phlebotomy experience (required)
- Blood Bank experience (required)
- 5+ years of laboratory experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
