Pride Health is hiring Medical Laboratory Scientist - Traveler to support our client’s medical facility based in Indianapolis IN 46256. This is a 13 weeks assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!


Title : Medical Laboratory Scientist - Traveler

Location: Indianapolis IN 46256

Duration: 3 months

Shift: Night shift 10pm-6:30Am Monday to Friday with rotating weekends and Holidays.


Pay rate : $2000-$2200 per week

Blood Bank Experience Required

*Pay rate is strictly based on years of experience and educational qualifications.


**Key Responsibilities**


Laboratory Testing & Analysis

  • Perform specimen handling, processing, and testing according to established laboratory procedures.
  • Analyze patient specimens using approved methodologies and departmental SOPs.
  • Review, verify, and release laboratory test results accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain complete records of all testing performed.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety regulations.
  • Perform and document quality control procedures, calibrations, and instrument maintenance.
  • Ensure proficiency testing samples are processed in the same manner as patient specimens.
  • Identify testing issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Adhere to laboratory policies when test systems fall outside acceptable performance parameters.

Operational Support

  • Report STAT and critical results according to departmental procedures.
  • Ensure reagents and testing materials are properly labeled and monitored for expiration dates.
  • Participate in training, competency assessments, safety programs, and departmental meetings.
  • Support inspections conducted by regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, supervisors, and healthcare providers as needed.


Required Qualifications


Education:

  • BS in Medical Technology (preferred) OR
  • BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology OR
  • Associate degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology
  • Eligible for or holding certification (ASCP / AMT preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, QC/QA, and multiple lab disciplines
  • Proficiency in computer systems and laboratory software

Experience

  • Minimum **1 year of clinical laboratory experience** (high-complexity testing preferred)
  • Blood Bank experience is required**
