Medical Assistant

Medical Professionals is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our specialty oncology and hematology team. This role supports physicians in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

The Medical Assistant will assist with patient intake, clinical support, documentation, and care coordination, providing compassionate care to patients undergoing treatment for cancer and blood disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit
• Maintain confidentiality of patient medical records and information
• Prepare laboratory and radiology orders and obtain lab and imaging reports
• Perform basic triage according to clinic protocols
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergent situations following established procedures
• Maintain exam rooms, clinical work areas, and medical supplies
• Support physicians and clinical staff during patient visits

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
• Active BLS Certification
• Knowledge of computerized medical information systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures
• Strong verbal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification in Ohio
• Experience working in an oncology or specialty medical practice

Schedule and Location:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Location: Columbus, Ohio

This position supports a physician owned oncology and hematology practice founded in 1987 and staffed by board certified oncologists. The practice focuses on improving the lives of patients living with cancer and blood disorders while maintaining a supportive work environment for staff.
