Contribute to the development, design, installation, and integration of advanced mechanical equipment for manufacturing processes.
Develop and design mechanical components, fixtures, and systems ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD/Inventor) for detailed design work.
Provide hands-on technical input and troubleshooting support during mechanical equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning.
Support start-up, qualification, and performance verification of mechanical equipment.
Verify mechanical equipment build, assembly, and layout against drawings and design intent.
Coordinate installation plans for mechanical equipment with safety teams, plant receivers, and other stakeholders.
Work with engineers, vendors, and contractors to resolve mechanical equipment installation, build, and performance issues.
Ensure safe work practices.
Update mechanical drawings, equipment documentation, and installation records to reflect field changes and final configurations.
What We Need From You
Required Education:
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology.
Required Experience:
Experience with mechanical equipment design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and debug in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience implementing mechanical equipment design solutions in a production/manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
Skilled in mechanical design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor for equipment layouts, assemblies, and design updates.
Knowledge of machine guarding and safety practices and standards (OSHA, etc.).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, vendors, and contractors.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Self-directed with sound judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with adjacent engineering disciplines, including electrical, civil, controls, process, and facilities, to support mechanical equipment integration.
A Few Things to Know
Interview Process: 30 minute teams interview, then 60 min Panel interview. Local candidates will be asked to interview for 2nd round onsite.
Candidates willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered.
Travel is expected to support projects at sites in Wilmington and Hickory, NC areas.
Typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support installation schedule.
