We’re supporting a major global energy technology organisation in the search for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer III to join a high-performing Gas Turbine Engineering team.


📍 Location: Greenville, South Carolina

🏢 Onsite | 1st Shift

💰 Rate: $59.38 per hour

📅 Contract Length: 12 months

Hours: 40 hours per week


The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer with strong rotor analysis expertise to work on advanced gas turbine technology projects. You’ll play a key role in structural analysis, fatigue assessment, design validation, and engineering problem solving within a collaborative technical environment.


Responsibilities

  • Execute 2D and 3D finite element analyses of gas turbine rotors using ANSYS
  • Perform post-processing activities including low cycle fatigue crack initiation and propagation assessments
  • Evaluate bolted joint behaviour and component strength performance
  • Retrieve and manipulate CAD models from PLM systems
  • Modify and develop models in Siemens NX
  • Prepare clear technical summaries and engineering documentation
  • Support automation of recurring analytical tasks using Python
  • Conduct defect evaluations through engineering analysis
  • Present updates in routine project meetings
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years' of industry experience
  • Strong 3D CAD modelling skills
  • Advanced ANSYS finite element analysis experience
  • Experience in fracture mechanics and low cycle fatigue analysis
  • Rotor design experience preferre
  • Siemens NX proficiency
