Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler III supports full mechanical integration and main unit assembly on production units. This role focuses on precise mechanical assembly, including crimping, pulling, terminating, and installing components while following detailed instructions and working closely with a production team. You will use hand and power tools to perform final assembly tasks, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and reliable builds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full mechanical integration and main unit assembly according to written instructions and production documentation.
  • Use crimping, pulling, terminating, and installing techniques to assemble mechanical and electromechanical components.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools, including drills with two different drill bit sizes, to install hardware and secure doors and other parts on units.
  • Follow detailed work instructions accurately to complete final assembly tasks to specification.
  • Work under direct, close supervision and respond positively to frequent monitoring and feedback on output and quality.
  • Inspect own work for accuracy, paying close attention to detail to ensure all components are correctly installed and secured.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members on the production line to meet daily and weekly output goals.
  • Assist with light industrial production activities related to mechanical assembly as needed.
  • Apply basic problem-solving skills to identify and communicate issues in the assembly process and help resolve them promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company procedures.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and assembly documentation accurately.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and final assembly work.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively, including drills with multiple drill bit sizes.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precise and accurate assembly.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented production environment.
  • Basic problem-solving ability to identify issues and support resolution during assembly tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift hours and required overtime, including some Saturdays when scheduled.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in light industrial or production environments.
  • Background in roles that require mechanical skills and finishing work, such as tire technicians or display technicians.
  • Comfort working under close supervision with frequent feedback on quality and productivity.
  • Reliability and consistency in meeting schedule and production expectations.

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position with typical hours of 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime and some Saturdays required when scheduled. In some cases, the shift may extend to 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM depending on production needs. The role is based in a light industrial production environment focused on mechanical assembly work. You will regularly use hand tools and power tools, including drills and related equipment, while working on production units. The setting is team-oriented and fast-paced, with close supervision and frequent monitoring of quality and output. Candidates must be able to commit to the scheduled 2nd shift hours and be available to work Saturdays when required as part of regular overtime expectations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $26.50/hr.
