Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description

The Material Handler safely moves, stages, and organizes inventory within a large warehouse environment to ensure materials are ready for installation teams. This role uses pallet jacks and hand tools to relocate materials, perform accurate inventory counts, and complete basic documentation to support smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Move and stage inventory throughout the warehouse using a hand pallet jack and other material handling equipment.
  • Prepare and organize materials so that installation teams have everything they need for upcoming projects.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and verify quantities against documentation to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Document material movements, counts, and any discrepancies clearly and accurately.
  • Use hand and power tools to assist with basic assembly, repair, or preparation of materials as needed.
  • Handle heavy lifting and extensive physical labor throughout the shift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Read and follow basic instructions, work orders, and, where applicable, simple blueprints or layout directions.
  • Support general production and warehouse tasks such as organizing work areas, consolidating materials, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of material or equipment issues and notify appropriate personnel when problems arise.
  • Collaborate with installers, technicians, and other team members to ensure materials are delivered to the right place at the right time.
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines to ensure materials meet required standards before staging or installation.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent workflow and project timelines.
  • Flexibly support occasional Saturday work and longer shifts, typically 8–10 hours per day, based on project needs.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience performing extensive physical labor in an industrial, construction, or warehouse environment.
  • Hands-on material handling experience, including moving and staging inventory in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to safely operate a hand pallet jack to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Comfort with heavy lifting and prolonged standing, walking, bending, and carrying materials.
  • Experience using hand and power tools for basic assembly, repair, or installation-related tasks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with mechanical components or assemblies.
  • Background in general labor, production, industrial, construction, carpentry, repair, assembly, or similar work.
  • Basic understanding of inventory processes, including counting, organizing, and documenting materials.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete simple documentation accurately.
  • Strong attendance and reliability, with a consistent track record of showing up on time and completing scheduled shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on large warehouse or distribution center projects, including prior exposure to Amazon facilities, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with reading simple blueprints or layout drawings is beneficial.
  • Exposure to installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting tasks in an industrial setting is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance, installation, or maintenance technician teams is helpful.
  • Comfort working around a variety of trades and services in a busy, large-scale warehouse environment.

Work Environment

This role is based inside a large, active warehouse facility with many moving parts and ongoing projects. You work closely with project advisors, installation teams, and service partners in a fast-paced, industrial setting. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday with 8–10 hour shifts, with occasional work on Saturdays depending on project demands. The environment involves extensive walking, lifting, and material movement around racking, equipment, and staging areas. You use hand and power tools, pallet jacks, and standard warehouse equipment while following established safety procedures. The dress code includes steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a work shirt suitable for industrial and construction-related tasks.

This is a Contract position based out of Pooler, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
