Position Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Senior Marketing Manager and VGSC Marketing team or other teams as needed. This position will contribute to existing programs while supporting the development of new initiatives aligned with company goals. This is an opportunity for an early-career marketer to gain hands-on experience in destination marketing, digital marketing, and content development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the upkeep of VisitGreenvilleSC.com, including content updates, proofreading, and ensuring information about Greenville hotels, restaurants, attractions, venues, and services is current and accurate
  • Maintain accurate upkeep of our digital asset management system, including uploading, tagging, and organizing new images and video, plus removal of outdated assets
  • Manage user-generated content sourcing and requests through our UGC platform
  • Assist with proofreading marketing materials, including website content, emails, and the Official Destination Guide
  • Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics as needed
  • Assist in conducting research on market trends, customer behavior, and the competitor landscape, and prepare reports with strategic insights
  • Support seasonal projects alongside the Destination Experiences team, including management of various visitor or event collateral
  • Coordinate the production of marketing materials, maintain inventory to ensure items are current and accurate, and assist with printing/production as needed
  • Provide e-store customer service support
  • Maintain a well-informed, working knowledge of Greenville hotels, restaurants, attractions, venues and services available to potential visitors
  • Collaborate with agencies and vendors as necessary
  • Support the marketing team through various tasks to ensure the team is enabled for success, and other duties as determined by Leadership


Candidate profile: The successful incumbent will have strong communications skills and be a team player and will possess the ability to thrive under pressure, demonstrate proficiency in listening skills, and work to be a problem solver. The Marketing Coordinator must be an organized multitasker, an exceptional proofreader, and able to handle many diverse projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, or communications or a related field
  • 0-2 years of experience working in a marketing department or communications position; internship experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google products
  • Experience working with current platforms/technology in the marketing space
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and transport equipment and materials for use in programs
  • Able to effectively manage time and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to travel and work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
