MANAGER, TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS
FT, 40 Hours/Week
The Manager, Technology and Information Systems provides leadership and oversight of the technology and information systems at MHS. This position will lead IT operations, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, data governance, and electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including JC and FQHC guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with MHSCC's goals, supporting the agency’s behavioral health, inpatient psychiatric, and community-based programs.
- Ensure the EHR system meets the organization’s needs, particularly in relation to FQHC lookalike status and UDS reporting. Lead continuous optimization of the system to support outpatient, inpatient, and youth services.
- Manage cybersecurity efforts and ensure all data handling complies with HIPAA, The Joint Commission, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Lead the IT department, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance. Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of IT staff.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Lead and prioritize IT projects, including device deployment efficiency, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and financial goals.
- Collaborate with leadership, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure IT systems support organizational goals and service delivery.
- Ensure IT systems are compliant with federal, state, and industry regulations, including FQHC guidelines, and manage technology-related risks.
- Follows all universal precautions for safety, infection control and follows all state, federal and joint commission health and safety standards.
- Treats patients and family with dignity and respect at all times and holds all patient information in the strictest confidence.
- Adhere to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements and Joint Commission standards, including National Patient Safety Goals. Presents a positive image of MHSCC to other community agencies, caregivers and citizens
- Completes all MHS required education and training, including initial agency orientation, mandatory trainings and educations, and upkeep of all required certifications and licensure as required by state, federal and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates organizational stewardship and exemplifies the mission, vision and values of MHS.
- Performs other job-related tasks as assigned
Education/Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Health Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of IT leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and FQHC compliance.
Licensure/Certifications
- NVCI/CPR/First Aid preferred (Will provide at orientation)
MHS provides CPR/First Aid and NVCI (CPI Blue) for all new staff, along with on-going education and on-the-job training opportunities.
All MHS candidates are required to have an Ohio BCI check (FBI check required if you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, or for working with children), 5-panel drug screen and residential staff must have 2 step TB (or proof of prior TB) upon conditional offer of employment.
