Maintenance Worker I - Streets

The City of Seabrook is looking for a dependable Street Maintenance Worker I to join our Streets and Drainage team. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems that residents rely on every day.

If you're someone who takes pride in physical work, works well on a team, and understands the importance of doing the job safely and correctly, this could be a good fit.

• Operate equipment such as trucks, loaders, rollers, and other tools used in street and drainage maintenance
• Assist with construction and repair of streets, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
• Install and maintain concrete, asphalt, signage, and pavement markings
• Perform right-of-way maintenance including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep
• Support drainage system work including pipe installation, ditch cleaning, and inspections
• Identify and address issues such as blockages, damage, or wear in public infrastructure
• Support the team with other duties as needed, including emergency response

This role supports the daily function and long-term reliability of the City's infrastructure.

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to safely operate equipment and use hand and power tools
• Willingness to learn, follow direction, and work as part of a team
• Strong focus on safety and doing the job right

This is a field-based position with physical demands. You'll work primarily outdoors and may encounter:

• Heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions
• Exposure to noise, equipment, and job site hazards
• Work near traffic or active work zones

The role includes standing, lifting, bending, and working with tools and equipment throughout the day.
