Description

Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pmEssential FunctionsOperate high‑level mail equipment including mail inserters, sorters, and finishing equipment in an automated high‑speed, high‑volume environment; includes packaging and postingPerform charge‑back reporting for postage, air express, local delivery, and faxesPerform production mail labeling and mail merge functionsProvide mailing address cleanup services, which may include the use of mail cleansing softwareCoordinate automated and manual processes for finishing and mailing client materialsImplement and maintain distribution and tracking systemsUse customized software to update and maintain mailing addressesPerform bar code address quality reviewManage electronic input, packaging activities, and posting fulfillment in high‑speed/high‑volume operationsRecommend improvements to achieve cost savings and optimize workflowAct as focal contact for special or unique mailings and shipmentsUse specialized material handling equipment when requiredReceive, sort, and process mail documents, packages, and supplies; notify recipientsDeliver and pick up mail on scheduled runsRecord and process accountable mail information and maintain logsTrack, trace, and resolve mail issues with USPS, express, and local delivery servicesPrepare mail and packages for external shipment and coordinate deliveries and pickups (may include USPS pickup and delivery)Perform quality checks on outbound mailValidate internal mail addresses, including bar code address lookupUse common mail services including fax, air express, and postal servicesComplete shipping forms and/or enter information electronically in shipping terminals per job ticketsPerform finishing work on documents to be mailed, including folding and insertionPerform electronic mail distribution (open, mail preparation, scan, and distribute)Perform fulfillment functions such as assembly, packaging, shipping, and tracking of kitted materialsFollow mailroom security proceduresPerform barcode tracking or face scanning of incoming mail and packagesPerform logging, transmission, receipt, and timely distribution of faxesPerform shipping and receiving using automated systems to track and manage activityMonitor, order, and replenish supply inventory related to mail and distribution activitiesSend and receive email messagesArrange alternative courier or shipping services to meet customer requirementsFully operate, clean, and maintain all shipping and mail equipmentContact service providers for mail and shipping equipment when neededSkillsAbility to lift and move up to 50 poundsAbility to read, write, and follow English instructionsDemonstrated intermediate PC and internet skills, including:Downloading and installing files (fonts, drivers, etc.) from internet sitesOpening, completing, saving, and printing internet formsPerforming mail mergesIntermediate knowledge of MS Word or equivalent, including:Inserting imagesCreating and managing tables and columnsEditing headers and footersCreating formsCreating and managing multiple sectionsIntermediate knowledge of MS Excel or equivalent, including:Navigating multiple worksheets within a workbookCreating charts and graphsUsing basic math functionsCreating basic formulasWorking knowledge of MS PowerPoint or equivalent, including:Creating basic presentationsOpening saved filesPrinting using different optionsWorking knowledge of account‑relevant applications (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, file conversion, or graphic arts applications)Basic knowledge of networks, such as adding or deleting a network printerBasic knowledge of Digital Front EndsFunctional knowledge of macOS when required by the clientAbility to determine output packaging per packaging standards (e.g., books, tabs, etc.)Driving capability, if requiredAbility to operate mail equipment per training, including:Finishing equipmentInsertersPostage metersEnvelope printersScalesPitney Bowes Mail Management SystemsFedEx shipping systemsDemonstrated customer service and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasksAbility to perform duties with minimal supervisionAbility to perform data entryAbility to use Production Mail SoftwareAbility to estimate and schedule mailing jobs, including operators, job path, and time requirementsAbility to train and mentor other mail client associatesExperience1–2 years of knowledge and experience with mail procedures and operating mail equipmentEducationMinimum: High School Diploma or equivalencyEducation VerificationYes

This is a Contract position based out of Overland Park, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.
