Field Representative I, Fulfillment Position Profile
Provides operational support in a fulfillment center across one or more functional areas. Responsibilities may include operating high-volume printing equipment (Segment 5) to produce large print jobs on previously calibrated machines; performing associated copying tasks; shipping and receiving products and supplies; sorting, distributing, and handling incoming and outgoing mail and faxes; and applying necessary postage.
The role also includes copier maintenance and/or repair of customer site equipment. Additional duties may include bindery work, quality control (QC) and final checks, housekeeping, file services, call center support, reception duties, meeting room setup, and light building maintenance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates high-volume printing equipment in a mechanically sophisticated print environment, including binding and finishing work
- Sets up and runs all applications on all assigned equipment
- Ensures convenience copiers are functioning properly through daily quality inspections
- Clears paper jams and reports specific mechanical issues to technicians
- Performs repair services on customer copier equipment
- Maintains records for management reports and supply inventory
- Distributes office supplies, fax transmissions, and mail to personnel or designated drop-off points
- Calculates charges for completed jobs and maintains billing logs
- Responds to and coordinates customer service calls
- Performs filing duties per customer requests, including document purging and archiving
- Delivers completed jobs to designated on-site and off-site customer locations
- Maintains daily meter readings and service logs
- Travels between customer buildings as required
- Answers customer inquiries regarding job status or feasibility
- Maintains cleanliness and supply stock in convenience copier areas
- Performs shipping and receiving duties
- Assists with meeting and conference room setups
- Supports building occupant moves within assigned facilities
- Performs re-lamping and light maintenance as assigned
- Performs occasional cleaning duties as needed
- Works overtime as required, including nights, weekends, and off-hour emergency response
- Operates bindery and finishing equipment including shrink-wrap machines, paper cutters, hole drills, joggers, tape machines, stackers, electric staplers, and scales
- Uses copier equipment, calculators, fax machines, postage meters, and PCs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–3 years of related work experience required
- Previous copy job experience preferred, especially in a high-production, mechanically advanced printing environment
- Valid driver’s license required, with minimum auto insurance coverage per company policy
- Ability to learn complex production and communication systems, including client-specific applications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of copiers and related equipment repair preferred
- Understanding of shipping and receiving procedures
- Basic electronics knowledge preferred
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to select appropriate packing materials and verify packing slip accuracy
- Ability to comprehend and follow mail delivery instructions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation, manuals, and parts catalogs
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions, Mental, and Physical Demands
- Frequent exposure to copier and fax machine noise, toner, and temperature changes
- Potential for paper cuts from handling paper and opening boxes
- Exposure to weather conditions when traveling between buildings
- Daily in-person and telephone interaction with customers, employees, managers, and dispatch; occasional vendor interaction
- High stress due to tight deadlines and quick turnaround times
- Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, and lifting items up to 50 lbs
- Pushing or pulling wheeled equipment weighing up to 400 lbs may be required
- Regular walking between buildings may be necessary
