Job Title: Electrical Assembly Technician
Job Description

The Electrical Assembly Technician will build, route, and wire low-voltage electrical panels and wire harnesses in a clean, climate-controlled panel shop. This role involves reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics, performing precise terminations and wire preparation, and maintaining a highly organized and professional work area while contributing to a growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Route and wire low-voltage electrical panels and wire harnesses according to schematics and build documentation.
  • Read and decipher electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics to determine correct wiring paths, terminations, and assembly steps.
  • Perform low-voltage electrical terminations using spade, ring lug, ferrule, and compression/flex lugs as required.
  • Strip, crimp, and prepare wires using appropriate hand tools such as wire strippers and wire crimpers.
  • Apply heat shrink to wires and connections to ensure proper insulation, protection, and professional appearance.
  • Assemble, wire, and build control panels, including panel wiring and panel layout work.
  • Use a variety of hand tools safely and effectively for electrical and mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Maintain a high level of detail, accuracy, and organization in wiring, routing, and panel layout to ensure clean and logical installations.
  • Keep the work area neat, professional, and well-organized to support efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members on the production floor and participate in cross-training as needed to support overall shop output.
  • Follow all shop procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines during assembly and wiring activities.
Essential Skills
  • Several years of hands-on experience routing and wiring low-voltage electrical panels and wire harnesses (ideally a minimum of 2 years, with flexibility for the right candidate).
  • Proficiency in reading and deciphering electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of low-voltage electrical connections and terminals, including spade, ring lug, ferrule, and compression/flex lugs.
  • Strong experience in stripping wire, crimping, and applying heat shrink to wires and connections.
  • Previous panel shop experience, including control panel building and panel wiring.
  • Ability to perform electrical assembly and mechanical assembly using common hand tools.
  • Experience using hand tools such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, and other tools required for electrical assembly.
  • Capability to maintain a high level of detail, organization, and workmanship in wiring and routing within electrical panels.
  • Ability to work professionally and keep the work area organized and orderly.
  • Basic hand soldering experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a dedicated panel shop environment.
  • Comfort working from detailed schematics and blueprints with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to cross-train in related tasks and support other assembly activities as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, well-organized panel layouts.
  • Reliable, team-oriented approach with good communication on the production floor.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a clean, climate-controlled panel shop environment designed for comfort and productivity. You will work alongside a team of approximately 32 people on the floor, with plans to continue adding to headcount as the operation grows. The role is on a first shift only, with flexible start times between 7:00–8:00 a.m. and end times between 4:30–5:00 p.m., allowing some adaptability to personal scheduling needs. You will regularly use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, and other standard electrical and mechanical assembly tools while working at organized workstations focused on quality and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of The Colony, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
