Job Summary

We are a fast-growing finance startup specializing in real estate investments, mortgage lending, and private credit. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Loan Support Specialist to join our lean and dynamic team. This multifaceted role supports the full lending lifecycle, from processing and underwriting to servicing, banking operations, and accounting support. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Loan Processing & Underwriting Support


Review borrower applications and supporting documents to ensure completeness and eligibility based on internal credit guidelines.

Assist with credit analysis, income/asset verification, and real estate valuation assessments.

Coordinate title, insurance, and third-party reports for pre-close conditions.

Prepare loan files for final underwriting review and assist in generating commitment or term sheets.

Loan Servicing & Portfolio Support


Set up and maintain servicing records, payment schedules, and amortization tracking.

Monitor borrower performance, payment activity, and covenant compliance.

Assist with payoff calculations, loan extensions, modifications, and draw requests (for renovation or construction loans).

Support post-close compliance checks and lien recording coordination.

Banking & Accounting Coordination


Facilitate wire transfers, ACH payments, and escrow disbursements in collaboration with operations and finance teams.

Track and reconcile incoming/outgoing funds related to closings, servicing, and investor payments.

Provide general ledger support for loan-level accounting and internal reporting.

Administrative & Back Office Support


Maintain accurate digital records and documentation using CRM, LOS and Servicing tools.

Assist with document preparation, e-sign workflows, and compliance checklists.

Respond to borrower and partner inquiries with professionalism and timeliness.

Support internal process improvements and workflow automation efforts as needed.


Requirements

1–3 years of experience in lending, real estate, mortgage operations, or financial services preferred.

Familiarity with private lending practices, mortgage docs, title reports, and servicing tools is a strong plus.

Strong analytical and math skills for calculating loan metrics, interest, escrows, and amortization.

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and document quality.

Comfortable with spreadsheets, data entry tools, CRMs, and digital document management platforms.

Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to liaise with borrowers, partners, and internal teams.

Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a startup environment.
