Compensation: $24.00–$26.00 per hour


Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Operations Specialist for an onsite contract opportunity in Meriden, CT. This position supports critical loan servicing and operational functions related to successor-in-interest requests, deceased borrower account processing, and property ownership transfers.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to accurately review documentation, update systems, and ensure compliance with mortgage servicing regulations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, generate, and distribute required written communications related to successor-in-interest requests in accordance with applicable federal, state, investor, and company guidelines.
  • Review legal and supporting documentation received from borrowers, heirs, attorneys, executors, trustees, and other authorized parties to determine eligibility and processing requirements.
  • Process successor-in-interest requests and ensure all required documentation is reviewed, tracked, and completed accurately.
  • Review and process deceased borrower documentation, updating loan records and servicing systems as necessary.
  • Assist with requests involving the transfer of property ownership into Revocable Living Trusts and Limited Liability Companies (LLCs).
  • Verify documentation completeness and accuracy while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform system updates and maintain accurate borrower, property, and account information within servicing platforms.
  • Research account discrepancies, investigate issues, and coordinate resolutions with internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Generate, maintain, and analyze operational reports to identify data inconsistencies, processing exceptions, and outstanding requests.
  • Collaborate with servicing, compliance, legal, and customer support teams to ensure timely and accurate request resolution.
  • Monitor assigned work queues and ensure service level agreements and processing deadlines are consistently met.
  • Support internal audits, quality control reviews, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts designed to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in mortgage servicing, loan operations, banking, financial services, or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan documentation and servicing processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and investor regulations related to mortgage servicing is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies, discrepancies, and potential processing issues.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, data analysis, and reconciliation activities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience processing successor-in-interest requests, deceased borrower accounts, probate documentation, estate-related transactions, or property ownership transfers.
  • Familiarity with Revocable Living Trust and LLC ownership transfer requirements.
  • Prior experience within mortgage loan servicing, default servicing, loan administration, or loss mitigation environments.
  • Experience working with servicing systems, document management systems, and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing mortgage servicing and borrower communications.


Work Environment

This position is fully onsite in Meriden, Connecticut. The role operates within a professional office environment and requires frequent interaction with internal departments and stakeholders. The successful candidate must be able to manage a high volume of documentation, maintain strict attention to detail, and consistently meet established productivity and quality standards.
