Downtown Jackson, MS Law Firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time litigation Paralegal to support our client’s team of attorneys in insurance defense litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, possess excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, contributing to complex legal cases while supporting a team of accomplished attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in all stages of insurance defense litigation, including discovery, case preparation, and trial support.

• Draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.

• Manage case files, ensuring all documents are properly organized, filed, and up to date.

• Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and other legal documents.

• Assist in fact-finding and investigation for cases, including reviewing medical records, reports, and other relevant documents.

• Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.

• Prepare exhibits and assist in trial preparation, including organizing materials, depositions, and witness testimony.

• Track important deadlines, maintain attorney calendars, and schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings.

• Provide general administrative support to the legal team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably with a focus on insurance defense litigation.

• Strong understanding of litigation procedures and familiarity with the Mississippi court system.

• Proficiency in legal research and drafting of legal documents.

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Additional Information: Candidates will be eligible for consideration for one remote workday per week after successfully completing a 90-day trial period.
