Litigation Paralegal – Civil Litigation (Construction Defect)

About the Role

A progressive and innovative national defense firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support its Civil Litigation Practice Group in the Orlando office. The firm offers a collaborative work environment, flexible work-from-home policy, and a supportive culture across all offices.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience in general liability and construction defect matters, along with trial experience. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid position; candidates must reside in the greater Orlando area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management and pre-trial preparation
  • Summarize medical, employment, and deposition records
  • Handle discovery work-up and document management
  • Process and follow up on subpoenas for medical, employment, tax, educational, disability, workers’ compensation, and union records
  • Communicate with experts and prepare materials for expert witness review
  • Prepare trial exhibits, witness materials, and pre-trial documents
  • Organize and maintain chronologies of key case documents
  • Review, analyze, and organize document productions from opposing parties and co-defendants
  • Redact claim files, medical records, police reports, emails, and other sensitive documents
  • Prepare records and exhibits for trial
  • Maintain compliance with trust guidelines and internal procedures


Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Experience in general liability and construction defect litigation preferred
  • Trial preparation and trial support experience required
  • Familiarity with trust guidelines and compliance
  • Experience with bank reconciliations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks independently
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with iManage, e-Copy, and PDF conversion tools preferred
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
