A national insurance defense firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal focused on written discovery to support its Detroit office, with a heavy emphasis on auto and trucking litigation.
This is a specialized, high-impact role centered on managing and executing written discovery across a busy litigation team.
The position is ideal for a senior paralegal or J.D. (non-practicing) with strong writing skills who prefers structured, process-driven litigation work.
This role is tied to the Detroit office with a preference for in-office presence (hybrid flexibility may be considered after ramp-up).
We are moving efficiently and can take candidates from initial conversation to decision within approximately two weeks.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and organize client documents early in the case lifecycle
- Review, summarize, and manage document production
- Populate and maintain discovery checklists and case materials
- Draft discovery response objection letters within required timelines
- Prepare and finalize written discovery responses
- Coordinate with attorneys to ensure consistency and strategy alignment
- Manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of all discovery obligations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation experience in a paralegal or similar role
- Strong experience with written discovery in insurance defense or civil litigation
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
- Comfort working within structured workflows and standardized processes
- Experience in auto, trucking, or bodily injury defense strongly preferred
Compensation
- $80,000 – $85,000 depending on experience
