Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles (Downtown LA or Century City)
Role: Temporary to Hire
Responsibilities
• Prepare, proofread, revise, and format litigation documents, correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, subpoenas, tables of contents, tables of authorities, and trial-related materials
• File documents with California state and federal courts, including electronic filing through court-specific e-filing systems
• Maintain attorney calendars, including court dates, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, meetings, and trial deadlines
• Calculate and calendar deadlines in accordance with California state and federal court rules and firm procedures
• Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, client meetings, and court appearances
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
• Assist with discovery, including document production, subpoenas, deposition notices, and discovery shells
• Prepare trial binders, exhibits, indexes, witness materials, and hearing, mediation, arbitration, and trial materials
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal team members
• Process incoming and outgoing mail, service of documents, and case-related correspondence
• Manage attorney expense reports, time entry, and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience as a litigation legal assistant required
• Experience with California state AND federal court e-filing required
• Strong knowledge of litigation calendaring, court deadlines, and filing procedures
• Experience preparing tables of contents and tables of authorities required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems
• Excellent proofreading, formatting, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and attorney preferences
