Overview
Our personal injury law firm is seeking an Attorney to join our team. This role is well-suited for an attorney with litigation experience who is comfortable managing cases through the litigation phase and advocating on behalf of clients in court. The attorney will primarily handle motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other personal injury matters, working closely with support staff and leadership to drive strong case outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from pre-litigation through litigation with increasing independence
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
• Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance adjusters
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on litigation strategy, case development, and trial preparation
• Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial as needed
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, explain legal strategy, and manage expectations
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all case activity within the firm’s case management system (Filevine)
Qualifications
• Active California Bar license required
• Prior experience handling personal injury litigation matters (3+ years PI Experience)
• Experience drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and attending court appearances
• Strong negotiation and litigation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, confident, and client-focused demeanor
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Experience using case management software; familiarity with Filevine is preferred
