Salary: $70,000 to $85,000 DOE

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-regarded full-service regional law firm to identify a Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to support a small, high-performing team in West Palm Beach.

This is a hands-on role within a close-knit office environment, offering strong autonomy and the opportunity to take ownership of your work. The team is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional who can operate with minimal oversight while maintaining a high level of accuracy and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and scheduling
  • Prepare, draft, edit, format, and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and routine motions
  • Handle Florida state and federal e-filing (including applicable portals and CM/ECF/PACER)
  • Assist with docketing, service lists, notices, and confirmations
  • Prepare and issue subpoenas and coordinate the request and tracking of medical records
  • Open new client matters, conduct conflict checks, and maintain organized case files
  • Manage incoming email, faxes, and physical mail
  • Support hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation, including assembling binders and exhibits
  • Review and enter attorney time for accuracy
  • Prepare and process pre-bills, invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements
  • Coordinate travel, meetings, and provide general administrative support in a small office setting

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of recent civil litigation legal assistant experience required
  • Background in commercial litigation strongly preferred (family law, criminal law, workers’ compensation, and most personal injury experience will not align with this practice)
  • Insurance defense or medical malpractice defense experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced law firm environment
  • Proven experience with Florida state and federal e-filing
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes and document management
  • High attention to detail with strong proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Professional, client-focused communication skills
  • Comfortable supporting a small office with blended legal and administrative responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-sufficient legal professional seeking a stable role with meaningful responsibility and direct impact on a small team.

If this sounds aligned with your background, or someone in your network, I would welcome a conversation.

Benefits:

Depending on the specific client, location, and role, benefits may include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, additional voluntary benefits, employee assistance programs, wellness offerings, and a 401(k) or similar retirement plan. Paid leave and holiday eligibility may apply in accordance with applicable laws. Bonus eligibility is based on company and/or individual performance.
