Legal Assistant

This is a fully onsite role in our downtown Seattle office. Reed Longyear is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Estate Planning, Probate and Guardianship practice. Reed Longyear is a well-established and long-standing general practice firm in downtown Seattle with strong ties to the local community. We are close to transit centers, ferries, and the King County courthouse. We cultivate a collaborative atmosphere and offer strong benefits and friendly co-workers. Responsibilities include:

• Communicate with clients, including initial intake and coordinating appointments
• Maintain and update attorney calendars
• Provide administrative support to paralegals and attorneys on a wide variety of complex and confidential legal matters
• Manage, organize, and maintain paper and electronic documents according to firm-wide standards
• Input information into file database and case management software
• Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents
• Prepare mailings, messenger service, and court filings
• Provide phone and administrative support to reception

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate’s Degree
• 1 or more years of experience in a legal support role
• Professional demeanor
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office
• High proficiency and accuracy with calendaring software
• Ability to work independently, manage complex workloads, and meet deadlines

Compensation Range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually (DOE)
