About the Opportunity

A growing boutique estate planning and probate law firm in the Marietta area is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join its close-knit team. This role is ideal for a career-minded legal professional who genuinely enjoys supporting clients, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is looking for a long-term opportunity with a collaborative firm culture.

The firm is open to hiring either a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, depending on experience and skill set. Estate planning and probate experience is highly preferred, though candidates with family law backgrounds who possess strong client-facing skills are encouraged to apply. The position can operate on either a full-time or part-time basis.


Responsibilities

Legal Assistant Responsibilities

  • Manage attorney and firm calendars, appointments, and deadlines
  • Coordinate client meetings and document signing appointments
  • Draft correspondence and prepare client packets
  • Maintain accurate client and matter information within firm systems
  • Communicate with clients by phone and email regarding case status and scheduling
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with probate and estate planning matters
  • Support office operations, file management, and administrative projects
  • Accurately record billable and non-billable time

Paralegal Responsibilities

  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and deeds
  • Prepare probate filings and supporting documentation
  • Conduct client signing meetings and explain estate planning documents to clients
  • Ensure execution packages are properly completed before clients leave the office
  • Communicate with courts, financial institutions, accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide ongoing support throughout matters
  • Utilize document assembly and case management software to prepare legal documents
  • Track deadlines, manage workflows, and enter billable time


Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal required
  • Estate planning and probate experience preferred
  • Strong client service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Must be comfortable working in a fully in-office environment
