Our client seeks a Legal Assistant to join their small law firm team in-office in Lacey, WA. The Perks!

  • Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000, based on experience

A Day in the Life of the Legal Assistant

In this role, you’ll provide essential support to attorneys by managing legal documentation, coordinating schedules, and ensuring cases move efficiently from start to finish. You’ll split your time between private client matters and municipal legal work, giving you a dynamic workload and the opportunity to build expertise across multiple legal disciplines. Your work will directly contribute to the firm’s ability to deliver high-quality, personalized legal services.


Responsibilities include:

• Draft legal documents and correspondence for attorneys

• Manage calendars and coordinate scheduling

• Open, organize, and maintain client and case files

• Handle probate and estate planning files from intake through resolution

• Assist with client billing as needed

• Draft ordinances, resolutions, and municipal legal documents

• Maintain prosecution files and prepare court-related materials

• Coordinate court calendars and hearing schedules

• Prepare pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other legal forms

• Collect and organize digital evidence for discovery

• Communicate with crime victims and coordinate case-related outreach

• Schedule and assist with witness interviews


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role
  • Strong proficiency with legal drafting, motions, pleadings, and/or correspondence
  • Prior experience with legal software or case management tools
  • Willingness to learn new areas of law and practice areas
  • Prefer a degree or certificate in legal/paralegal studies
  • Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys or managers simultaneously
