Lead Full Stack Engineer (P&C Insurance)
Location: Hybrid – Manhattan, New York / Atlanta, GA
Compensation: $140,000-$180,000 base + bonus + 401(k) match + comprehensive benefits
Overview
A leading global property & casualty insurance organization is seeking a hands-on Lead Full Stack Engineer to drive the development and delivery of modern, scalable insurance applications. This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and business impact, playing a key part in building next-generation digital products that support underwriting, claims, billing, and broader insurance operations.
This individual will lead from the front—owning architecture, guiding engineering teams, and delivering high-quality, end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of full stack applications, from requirements and architecture through deployment and ongoing support
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and reusable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
- Act as a hands-on technical leader, contributing to coding, design reviews, and complex problem solving
- Guide and mentor engineering teams, fostering best practices in software development, code quality, and performance
- Partner with product, business, and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful technical solutions
- Drive delivery planning, including estimation, sprint execution, and release management
- Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps methodologies
- Identify risks and proactively resolve technical and delivery challenges
- Apply domain knowledge to ensure solutions align with P&C insurance workflows and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8–10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full stack development expertise
- Proven experience leading delivery of complex, enterprise-scale applications
- Strong hands-on experience with modern tech stacks, including:
- Back-end: .NET, Node.js, or similar
- Front-end: React, Angular, or Vue
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- APIs and microservices architecture
- Relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience designing scalable application and integration architectures
- Strong understanding of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and build high-performing teams
Preferred
- Experience within P&C insurance, including policy, claims, billing, or underwriting systems
- Exposure to insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Majesco
- Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives
- Cloud or architecture certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
