A well-established, mid-sized law firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced Law Firm Administrator to lead day-to-day operations and partner closely with firm leadership. This is a high-impact role offering strong visibility and the opportunity to shape internal processes, culture, and growth.


About the Role

In this position, you will oversee the business operations of the firm, ensuring efficiency across administrative, HR, and financial functions. You will serve as a trusted partner to attorneys and leadership while managing internal teams and driving best practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across the firm, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows
  • Supervise administrative and support staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, financial oversight, and vendor management
  • Maintain compliance with firm policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Support HR initiatives, including employee relations and benefits coordination
  • Implement and maintain organized systems, reporting structures, and operational processes
  • Act as a central point of contact for internal operations and cross-functional communication


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business, HR, or a related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Proven ability to take ownership, think ahead, and operate independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including background and financial checks
