Law Firm Administrator

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation: $140,000 – $190,000 (commensurate with experience)

A highly regarded, mid-sized law firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced Law Firm Administrator to oversee day-to-day operations and support firm leadership. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational efficiency, managing administrative functions, and contributing to the firm’s overall strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the firm, including office management, HR, IT, and facilities
  • Partner with firm leadership on strategic initiatives, budgeting, and long-term planning
  • Manage administrative staff, including recruiting, onboarding, and performance management
  • Work closely with accounting/finance on budgeting, reporting, and vendor management
  • Evaluate and improve firm processes, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and firm policies
  • Support attorneys with operational needs and business functions as needed

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of law firm administration or legal operations experience required
  • Strong understanding of law firm structure, billing, HR, and financial operations
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and firm-wide initiatives
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate strategically while also executing day-to-day responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification a plus

Additional Information:

Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis up to 184 hours a year, 13 Paid Holidays, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
