A leading Am Law 200 law firm is seeking a Land Use Paralegal to support a sophisticated Real Estate and Land Use practice in Miami. This is a strong opportunity for a paralegal with hands-on experience in Miami-Dade land use, zoning, permitting, and local development processes who enjoys working closely with attorneys, clients, consultants, and government agencies to move matters forward.


Location: Miami, FL

Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite

Compensation: $70,000–$90,000


What You’ll Do:

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation, filing, and tracking of land use and zoning applications, including rezonings, variances, special exceptions, and site plan approvals
  • Coordinate submissions with municipal and county agencies throughout Miami-Dade County
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research related to zoning codes, comprehensive plans, and land development regulations
  • Draft correspondence, memoranda, reports, and due diligence materials for real estate and land use matters
  • Monitor project timelines, public hearing agendas, and key deadlines
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, and government staff to help advance client objectives
  • Take ownership of assignments, work independently, and keep attorneys and stakeholders appropriately informed

Ideal Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a U.S.-accredited college or university
  • 2+ years of experience in land use, zoning, planning, or related work within Miami-Dade County
  • Experience in either a law firm, private sector development environment, or local government setting
  • Strong understanding of Miami-Dade land development, zoning, and permitting processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and professional software tools
  • Experience with platforms such as Municode, CodeHub, ProjectDox, GIS tools, or similar permitting/review systems
  • Strong research, writing, organization, and deadline-management skills

Preferred:

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or AICP accreditation
  • Spanish language proficiency
