Laminator Operator I – Manufacturing / Packaging

$21.10/hour + $2.00 shift differential (Effective Rate: $23.10/hour)


Job description:

I’m working with a leading packaging manufacturer to hire a Laminator Operator I for their Elk Grove Village facility.

This is a hands-on production role focused on operating laminating equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes. The company is known for its strong safety culture, sustainability focus, and long-term career opportunities within the packaging sector.


The Position:

  • Operate laminating machinery safely and efficiently in line with production targets
  • Mix adhesives according to formulas and verify calculations for each run
  • Set up machines, including rollers and substrates, to meet job specifications
  • Verify first-piece quality and ensure ongoing compliance with standards
  • Monitor production processes and report any defects or inconsistencies
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas to required standards (including SQF)
  • Handle hazardous materials and waste in accordance with procedures
  • Perform machine adjustments and basic maintenance tasks
  • Support continuous improvement, audits, and team-based initiatives
  • Report safety issues, accidents, and quality concerns immediately


What They’re Looking For:

  • At least 1 year of machine operator experience (laminator experience preferred) – MUST
  • Experience working with and measuring chemicals – MUST
  • Ability to read a ruler or tape measure accurately – MUST
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail – MUST
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment – MUST
  • Strong safety awareness and reliability – MUST

Shift Pattern:

  • 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM
  • 12-hour continental schedule (3 days one week, 4 days the next)
