Laminator Operator I – Manufacturing / Packaging

$21.10/hour + $2.00 shift differential (Effective Rate: $23.10/hour)
Job description:
I’m working with a leading packaging manufacturer to hire a Laminator Operator I for their Elk Grove Village facility.
This is a hands-on production role focused on operating laminating equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes. The company is known for its strong safety culture, sustainability focus, and long-term career opportunities within the packaging sector.
The Position:
- Operate laminating machinery safely and efficiently in line with production targets
- Mix adhesives according to formulas and verify calculations for each run
- Set up machines, including rollers and substrates, to meet job specifications
- Verify first-piece quality and ensure ongoing compliance with standards
- Monitor production processes and report any defects or inconsistencies
- Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas to required standards (including SQF)
- Handle hazardous materials and waste in accordance with procedures
- Perform machine adjustments and basic maintenance tasks
- Support continuous improvement, audits, and team-based initiatives
- Report safety issues, accidents, and quality concerns immediately
What They’re Looking For:
- At least 1 year of machine operator experience (laminator experience preferred) – MUST
- Experience working with and measuring chemicals – MUST
- Ability to read a ruler or tape measure accurately – MUST
- Basic math skills and attention to detail – MUST
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment – MUST
- Strong safety awareness and reliability – MUST

Shift Pattern:
- 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM
- 12-hour continental schedule (3 days one week, 4 days the next)
