WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Prospect, develop, and close new small commercial and personal lines accounts through networking, referrals, community involvement, and outbound outreach
• Conduct needs analysis and recommend tailored coverage — property, casualty, auto, home, umbrella, and small business policies
• Prepare and present proposals and quotes in a consultative, client-first manner
• Build lasting client relationships that drive retention, cross-sells, and referrals
• Collaborate with underwriters and carrier partners to secure competitive terms
• Maintain accurate records in our agency management system
• Stay current on industry trends, carrier appetites, and product offerings
• Meet monthly and annual new business goals set with agency leadership
• Represent Shepherd Insurance Partners at community events and networking functions
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Ohio P&C license preferred — not required. We'll help you get licensed while you're working with us
• 0–2 years in insurance sales, account management, or a related sales role
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications is a plus but not required
• Familiarity with agency management systems (Applied Epic, Hawksoft, QQ Catalyst, or similar) is a bonus
• Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build trust
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn new tools
