IT Software Engineer 3 (UI / Front-End)

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an IT Software Engineer 3. The work will be done hybrid out of the Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL office (minimum 1 day onsite weekly, with flexibility to increase onsite presence as needed). This is a 12-month position with potential to extend and can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $81/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).


Job Summary

Cullerton Group is seeking a skilled UI / Front-End Software Engineer to support the design and development of modern, cloud-based, customer-facing web applications. This role focuses on building intuitive, high-performance user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks and UI best practices. The engineer will collaborate with architects, backend teams, product owners, and Agile stakeholders to deliver scalable digital solutions. This position is ideal for a front-end specialist who thrives in fast-paced, Agile environments.


Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain intuitive and performant web-based user interfaces

• Contribute hands-on front-end code using modern UI best practices

• Build and maintain reusable UI components, dashboards, widgets, and custom tables

• Integrate front-end applications with APIs and visualization tools (including Grafana)

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Lead technical spikes, proof-of-concepts, and solution design efforts

• Address technical debt, performance improvements, and UX enhancements

• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (required)

5–7 years of professional experience in UI / web application development

3+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Redux

• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs, Jest, and Webpack

• Experience with UI middleware and mocking tools (Redux-Saga, Mirage JS)

• Experience using API development tools such as Swagger and Postman

• Familiarity with AWS cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Grafana UI integration and visualization development

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments across multiple teams

• Experience leading technical POCs and reusable component development

• Exposure to BDD frameworks such as Cucumber

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under time constraints
