Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech)

Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Pay Rate: $2,766/week

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift (40 hours/week guaranteed)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to provide high-quality imaging support during diagnostic and interventional procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in IR, Neuro-Interventional Radiology (NIR), and Vascular procedures, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Imaging & Equipment Operation

  • Provide multi-modality imaging support using fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT systems
  • Operate advanced imaging technologies including:
  • Single-plane and bi-plane systems
  • IVUS, AngioJet, Penumbra, EKOS
  • CT fusion and iGuide technology
  • Ablation technologies (radiofrequency, microwave, cryoablation)
  • Perform image post-processing and ensure image quality
  • Conduct equipment checks and troubleshoot issues with vendor support
  • Maintain and clean imaging equipment and procedural suites

Procedure Support

  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures as a first assist
  • Maintain sterile field and manage procedural supplies
  • Document procedural details including:
  • Fluoroscopy time and dose
  • Contrast and sedation usage
  • Biopsy samples and interventional data
  • Ensure accurate procedural coding and documentation
  • Transfer and manage imaging data via IMPAX and fusion software

Patient Care

  • Prepare and position patients for procedures
  • Explain procedures and ensure patient understanding
  • Monitor patient condition and report changes to clinical team
  • Assist with administration and documentation of contrast and medications
  • Follow strict radiation safety protocols
  • Support post-procedure care and specimen handling

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program or Associate’s Degree
  • Active ARRT certification (must be maintained)
  • BLS or ACLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of interventional imaging and procedural workflows

Required Skills

  • Experience in:
  • Interventional Radiology (IR)
  • Neuro-Interventional Radiology (NIR)
  • Vascular procedures
  • Familiarity with Siemens imaging systems preferred
