Job Description

This role involves working as part of a small crew to install insulation and perform texturing work on residential or commercial job sites. You will meet at the shop each morning, travel with your team to the job site, and work until the project for the day is completed. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on construction work, can handle a fast pace with frequent overtime, and want exposure to multiple aspects of the construction process.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare areas to be textured by cleaning, organizing, and setting up workspaces.
  • Mask and protect windows and other surfaces to prevent overspray or damage during texturing and insulation work.
  • Use spray guns and related equipment to apply texture as directed.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and tape measures to complete insulation and general construction tasks accurately.
  • Install insulation materials according to project requirements and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with general construction and drywall-related tasks as needed.
  • Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds throughout the workday.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be willing to put in overtime each day as needed.
  • Demonstrate self-direction by identifying and starting tasks without constant supervision.
  • Support crew members, communicate effectively on site, and contribute to a safe and organized job environment.
  • Return to the shop with the crew at the end of the workday; there is no overnight travel and you are home each night.

Essential Skills

  • Experience or strong interest in construction, general labor, or general construction work.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure for measurements and layout.
  • Comfort using power tools and hand tools in a construction setting.
  • Ability to install insulation and assist with related tasks as trained.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn basic carpentry and drywall tasks.
  • Ability to use or learn to use a spray gun for texturing applications.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Reliability to start work at 7:00 a.m. and stay until the job is completed, with no set end time.
  • Comfort working in dusty environments and in varying temperatures, including colder conditions in winter and hotter conditions in summer.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work quickly and maintain productivity.

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in taking on more responsibility over time.
  • Ability to work independently when needed while still contributing effectively to a team.
  • Willingness to move between texturing and insulation tasks to gain broader experience and variety in daily work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
