Job Title: Insulation Installer – Thermal and Acoustic HVAC Ductwork

Job Description

This role focuses on installing thermal and acoustic insulation on HVAC ductwork to improve energy efficiency and system performance. You will measure, cut, and secure insulation materials, apply vapor barriers, and seal seams to ensure high-quality, durable installations in a data center environment on a secure military base.

**MUST HAVE OSHA 10 CERTIFICATION**

Responsibilities

  • Install thermal and acoustic insulation on HVAC ductwork to improve energy efficiency and reduce noise.
  • Measure duct dimensions accurately and cut fiberglass or foam insulation to fit various duct sizes and shapes.
  • Secure insulation materials around ductwork using appropriate fasteners, adhesives, and tapes.
  • Apply vapor barriers and seal all seams, joints, and penetrations with tape or adhesive to ensure airtight and moisture-resistant installations.
  • Interpret basic blueprints and duct layouts to determine insulation requirements and installation methods.
  • Use hand tools and related equipment safely and effectively during insulation installation and finishing.
  • Work in and around data center facilities on a secure military base, following all site access and security procedures.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and disposal of insulation materials.
  • Collaborate with other construction and HVAC team members to coordinate work and meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience with duct wrapping for HVAC systems.
  • General construction knowledge, including working with basic hand tools and construction materials.
  • Ability to measure, cut, and install fiberglass or foam insulation on HVAC ductwork.
  • Ability to apply vapor barriers and seal seams with tape or adhesive to create airtight and moisture-resistant systems.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Ability to work at Tinker Air Force Base, adhering to all security and access requirements.
  • Possession of a Real ID or passport to obtain base access.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior insulation installation experience, particularly on HVAC ductwork.
  • Experience reading blueprints and ductwork drawings.
  • Familiarity with working in data center environments.
  • Comfort working in a structured, safety-focused construction setting on a secure military base.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a data center located on Tinker Air Force Base, within an active construction and HVAC installation setting. The environment is safety-focused and structured, with adherence to base security protocols and OSHA standards. You will work with common construction and insulation tools, handling fiberglass or foam materials and vapor barriers around HVAC ductwork. Access to the site requires a Real ID or passport. Long-sleeve high-visibility shirts are provided and are part of the expected work attire, along with appropriate personal protective equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
