IT Purchasing Analyst

Location: Hybrid – Mechanicsville, VA

Address: 9120 Lockwood Boulevard, Mechanicsville, VA 23116

Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite once per week + required meetings)



Must-Haves:

State or local government IT procurement experience

Strong knowledge of VITA and Commonwealth of Virginia procurement policies

Hands-on experience with IT purchasing (hardware, software, IT services)

Experience managing IFBs and RFPs

Ability to analyze requisitions and ensure policy compliance

Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Plusses:

Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA) or Virginia Contracting Officer (VCO) certification

Experience with Cardinal and eVA systems

Background supporting transportation or large public-sector agencies


Day-to-Day:

Review and analyze IT requisitions for accuracy and compliance

Execute procurements for IT goods and services per state guidelines

Manage formal solicitations including IFBs and RFPs

Coordinate with vendors, VITA, and internal stakeholders

Track procurement status and provide updates to business users

Support compliance with DSBSD micro/small business initiatives


Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking an IT Purchasing Analyst to support a large public-sector transportation client in Virginia. This individual will manage IT procurements from requisition through award, ensuring compliance with VITA and Commonwealth policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, understands formal state procurement processes, and can confidently support stakeholders in a hybrid environment while delivering best value outcomes.


Compensation:

$22.75/hr to $30.69/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
